The first miles take the runners out of downtown Spokane through the historic Browne’s Addition. After that they will run a few miles along the course of the famous Lilac Bloomsday run. Then they will head west on the Centennial Trail where they will meet some short, but steep hills. After that challenging section, for just over a mile, they will get to enjoy a gradual downhill run along the Centennial Trail with huge trees on both sides of the trail and gorgeous views of the river flowing far below. After crossing the T.J. Meenach Bridge, the runners are jolted back to reality with a trek up the infamous Doomsday Hill just before the nine-mile mark. The runners then turn into the West Central neighborhood where they run along Summit Boulevard and through the trendy Kendall Yards, again running high above the Spokane River. In the final mile, there is a small climb up Lincoln Street, and then it is a flat stretch for about a quarter of a mile when the runners turn right into Riverfront Park and follow the trail south finishing directly over the Spokane River.
As always over 13.1 miles, there may be construction or other issues that will force us to make changes to the course. If this happens we will announce it on this website.
