Great run Mary Ann...Yeah, the Trail was surprisingly clear. Some good Park Ranger must have plowed it off...what a nice surprise.

Hi Ken, I survived and finished at 7:34:12. Thanks and I was delighted the trail was actually not too terrible!

Hey Dean,

Sure you can still enter; or just bring your entry/check to the start. Perhaps someone will carpool with you. I've copied the group to see if you can connect with someone. We are also, this year, allowing an out & Back from Stateline to Mile 18 for those who do not want to do the full Trail. This section of the Trail is in excellent condition and will yield a fast time relatively. Of course the last 10 miles up North are the nicest in terms of scenary and such; but I do not want anyone to worry that they may get hurt on remaining ice up there. Finishers will be listed separately for the "Full Meal Deal" and the "out & back" to 18.

See ya, Ken

My finish time for the CTR out-back was 5:56:09.

Thanks for organizing the run.  It sure was a nice day.  I hope all those that did the real run finished.  Honestly, I was happy just getting my 36 in.

Have a great spring!

Dave Dutton

Ken!  What a FANTASTIC run!!! I WILL do this again!!!

I had a terrific time and everyone was awesome!
Thanks sooo much for putting this on.
I finished (YAHOO!!!!!!!!!) with a time of 6:09:43.  I'm OKAY with that!  Have never gone past 26.2 miles and so everything past that was a new and exciting adventure!
Thanks again!
Paul
Oh, my wife has some pictures of a number of the group, what's the best way to get them to you?
Hi Ken,

Thanks again for organizing this run.    Both the weather and the trail conditions far exceeded expectations!

Steven and Karen's cookies were great in the Valley and the aid station at about mile 20 was a welcomed break.

It was fun running with you and getting a chance to chat.     It was so nice of you to make that wrong turn just before the finish so that you could finish with us in 6:54.

Hope to see you soon.

Judy Carluccio

Good run Donnie! Ken

Dear Ken,

Thanks for a great run, Brandon Lott and I got a little off course in town which maybe added a mile or so but it was a beautiful day to get lost.  The scenery helped relieve the knee pain and I had a really good time, please thank the volunteers and I hope to see you next year.

Time:  6:24

Hey Stuart, I'll get the medal in the mail today. Jim Hoppe will add you to his email list too for information on runs/races in the area.

Hey Ken,
Thanks for organizing yesterday's run.  It was an approachable and rewarding introduction to ultra running for me.  Heard rumours through the 'pack' that you send out periodic emails to a list with running info in the area.  I'd love to get on that list if I can.  My time for yesterday came out right at 5:24:52.
Also, I was the guy that showed up right at the last minute, so now that I know I completed the thing, I'd like to try and get with you to pick up one of those medals.  I'm not sure where we might see each other next, but I'm up on the south hill often.  Assuming your place is the one where I dropped my registration, you can probably just leave one on the door step and I can snatch it up at some point, or whatever works best for you.  Thanks again, I think I caught the ultra bug, I'm already getting big ideas.

Hello Stuart

I'm copying the group on this to see if anyone wants to pool with you. I will have maps and instructions at check in. The section downtown can be confusing. The "official route" is to turn North at Howard (near the Carosel) and cross the three bridges continuing north to Maxwell. You then follow Maxwell West to Pedit Drive (Doomsday Hill) in back of the West Central Community Center. The top of Pedit is Mile 26. You proceed down the hill and cross Meenach Bridge. On the West side of the Bridge you will see mile marker 27 and the entrance to the final 10 miles North through Riverside State Park.

Ken

Ken,
Great, I'm excited for this weekend.  I had my fingers crossed as i dropped my app in the mail slot of what appeared to be the right address.  I only have two questions:

1, i've run many sections of the centennial trail and ridden the whole thing, but i get mixed up around down town between riverfront park and the tj meenach bridge.  but from the sounds of your attachment, i guess i can pretty much go any route that works, is it likely to be along ohio to summit blvd?

2.  my "support crew" kinda, sorta bailed on me.  i've had afriend offer to give me a ride if need be, but do you know of any potential carpools?  i'm down in peaceful valley but could meet people just about anywhere.

until then,
Stuart

Hi Stuart,

Welcome to the CTRUN! I've attached some information that I sent out earlier to participants. Please let me know if you need anything else.

See you Saturday! Ken

Ali,
  Hey, great time!
YES!  I was shocked at how GREAT the trail was!  Even behind SFCC it had been plowed and although there was still snow and ice, it had been smoothed over and that made it easier getting up the hill.  BUT, the BIGGEST surprise was past the 7 mile parking lot when my wife and I had checked out Wednesday night, just pass the power lines, it was a solid piece of snow, but SOMEONE (GOD BLESS THEM!) plowed it!  AHHHHMAZING!  I was sooo excited that we would not have to break our ankles getting across that!
Ken, yes, thanks again!  This was soooo stinkin much fun!  This was my 1st, but not my last, Ultra and running it with all you folks was  great!  Thanks for all the fun!
Paul (aka..the guy that showed up late....errrrgggg!)

Hey Ken,

Thanks again for another great race. The course was ten times better than I was anticipating! I am looking forward to next year, thanks for jump starting the ‘spring’ racing season! (Anyone else looking outside at the snow right now?? UGG!)  My finish time was 5:46:24.

Ken,

If you're looking for more stories, I've posted mine on my blog at http://trimoot.wordpress.com.
Also, ...I hate to even ask...but...can I pickup my medal?  I was late getting there and although I'm not big on medals, I kind of want this one since it's my 1st Ultra.
And, I think I've sent you my time, but just in case it was 6:09:43
  Thanks!
Paul

Hey Mark,

Another great CTRUN Story. The distance is about the same,  although Aubrey Parkway is not as scenic as the Trail. Never worry about course revisions in this event; you are an "Official Finisher" (for what it's worth). Happy Trails! Ken

Ken,
First, thanx to you and the BRRC volunteers for putting on this run.  It was my first time back in a race/run in over a year and despite the GI distress and crippling PF, I still had more fun than playing in a sandbox!

As I told you guys when I re-caught up with you @ Mission or Lincoln, I had run over 5K off-course and ~4K back to eventually get back to my point of departure--missed the Mission St left and followed the bike-path down Howard to downtown...ooops!

Anyway, I got of-course again by not crossing back over the river and instead, accidentally went straight on River Road/Park Rd that parallels the River past the Water Reclamation Plant and State Park, etc., all the way to 7-Mile Rd. where I crossed the River and joined the Centennial Trail @ Mi. 34.  I tho't I was following a guy in the race, but apparently not.  I did get to run with a cute girl, though, and that's never a bad thing.  Anyway, didn't find out about the error until I was near 7-Mile Rd. and was told by the local runner that it was about equidistant, so I didn't backtrack the 8mi to that bridge to rerun the official course.  If I cut the course any, it was unintentional and I'll take the DQ or "unofficial" finisher status--however you call it.  Regardless, it was great meeting the other runners and volunteers.

Thanx again.  Run Long, but ENJOY the Journey!
